Activision Achieves Biggest Selling Digital Opening in its History with Launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Five by Five drives preference and sales for Activision’s 16th major title in global digital launch campaign

​As one of the world’s biggest entertainment franchises, the global launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare saw the production of a vast array of digital content, including over 3,000 ad placements across 28 countries and 18 languages - all in just 20 days from conception to delivery.

Some assets included 10 video variations including launch countdown and game mode-specific, the latter promoted to all three major sections the MW launch has to offer: Story, Gameplay and Spec Ops.

The majority of ad placements were produced for publishers including IGN, Twitch, Spotify, ESPN and Sky to name a few and were managed using Five by Five’s proprietary digital display platform, Oceanview. 

The launch generated over $600 million within the first three days of launch - the biggest selling digital opening in Activision history.
