Across The Pond has appointed April Kwang as senior art director to work across all clients, but with a focus on Google.
Kwang, a strategically-driven art director, joins the agency’s San Francisco-based team from Toaster, where she was senior art director, having previously worked as art director at DigitasLBi.
Notable accounts she has worked on include YouTube and PlayStation.
Her YouTube work includes #LoveNotes, a 2021 campaign celebrating the bonds between creators and their fans around Valentine’s Day and involving dynamic DOOH placements on the streets of New York, Los Angeles and London supported by social, blog posts and video.
Her PlayStation work involved developing and ideating full digital and social campaigns. It included the launch of Horizon Zero Dawn, for which larger than life replicas of the game’s characters were released into real life.
The Horizon Zero Dawn campaign won two Silvers at PROMAX Games and one Silver at the ADDY Awards in 2017 and was shortlisted for numerous other awards, including in various Games categories at the 2017 Clios and in Product Design at the 2017 Cannes Lions.
Karen Crookes, vice president, Across the Pond San Francisco, says: “With her creative skills powered by strategic drive, April will be a great addition to our team. We're very proud to have fantastic women leading our creative department in SF. We can’t wait to see where her contribution will take us next.”
Alexandra Hill, creative director at Across the Pond, says: “From our first conversation, April struck us as remarkably thoughtful, smart and talented. We are so happy to welcome her to our creative team here in SF, and we look forward to discovering how much further she can push our thinking, and bolster our social and digital capabilities.”
Kwang says: “I enjoy creative chaos and collaboration. I’m passionate about innovative ideas. And I draw inspiration from the world around me. What drew me to Across The Pond was the vast amount of knowledge and experience they have on film. I can’t wait to contribute – and learn – from being part of such a great team.”
