Absolute have strengthened their Nuke offering with the appointment of Tommy Coulter-Liston as Nuke Artist. Tommy joins from Tag Collective Arts (formerly Big Buoy), where he worked across projects for brands including Nike, adidas and Toyota.
Tommy’s career began as a runner at Smoke & Mirrors, where he spent many-a-lunchtime shadowing the 2D team to gain a general understanding of VFX workflows, before quickly progressing to Junior Nuke Artist and cementing the theory behind the practical.
In the three-and-a-half-years that followed, Tommy worked with agencies such as Pulse Creative, The&Partnership and Wieden+Kennedy, as well as production companies like Knucklehead, UNIT9 and HunkyDory. A lover of the entire filmmaking process, he lists his career highlight to date as taking on the role of on-set VFX Supervisor for Nike’s recent collaboration with tennis star, Emma Raducanu.
“I’m looking forward to pushing myself and becoming a better artist,” he says of his new position. “I love what I do - I’m always making funny little VFX videos to amuse my children! The new hybrid working model has given me more opportunities to watch them grow, and I’m really thankful for that.”
Absolute’s MD, Dan Bennett, adds: “We’re really proud to welcome Tommy to Absolute. Our VFX team has really expanded over the past twelve months, which is testament to where we’re at and where we are heading. Tommy has the skillset and attitude to mirror this goal and we look forward to introducing him to our clients.”
