Editors' Choice: Excellent ad from Rossmann is in support of the 'United We Stream' initiative, which is streaming DJ sets into people's homes, writes Addison Capper
German health and beauty retailer Rossmann has launched a campaign to support the German club scene during the coronavirus crisis. The campaign is in support of the 'United We Stream' initiative founded by ARTE Concert, which streams daily DJ and concert appearances from German venues. The income from the streams goes to a rescue fund that can be used to help the clubs.
Rossmann's efforts to support the initiative are centred around one of the most unique looking coronavirus related ads that we've seen. In the film, Rossmann takes the place of the club - protected by a bouncer in all-black clothing who ushers shopper one-by-one into the smoke-filled store. It's tongue-in-cheek but rooted in truth given the socially distanced lines seen outside shops all around the world right now.
The real feat is that it looks just like a regular, professionally produced spot - it isn't leaning into user-generated content. What's more, it's also funny which is quite welcome at the moment. It was created by German agency Bluehouse. Check it out below.
