"We created this certification process by producers, for producers, specifically designed to integrate seamlessly into existing production workflows. There's no pass or fail here – it's a supportive resource"
Inclusively Made has created an inclusion assessment tool to help creative businesses get started, or assess their progress, on their inclusivity journey.

Inclusive production isn't about adding layers of compliance or bureaucracy – it's about thoughtfully distributing opportunity and making small, impactful changes that often don't require additional budget, the organisation said.

"The biggest surprise? It's actually more like taking a BuzzFeed quiz than tackling governance paperwork," says Henry Smith, founder of Inclusively Made.

"We created this certification process by producers, for producers, specifically designed to integrate seamlessly into existing production workflows. There's no pass or fail here – it's a supportive resource that helps teams identify opportunities to be more inclusive, many of which don't incur extra costs."

This supportive approach is winning over previously hesitant production teams.

Josh Jenkins, head of production at Hogarth, admits his team initially approached certification with caution.

"Like many, we were wary to start, thinking it would be a complex process. But once we dove in, we were amazed by how quick and straightforward it was. The real lesson here is that taking that first step, however small, is infinitely better than not starting at all."

The free self-assessment tool, which takes less than five minutes to complete, provides a simple checklist of considerations that can elevate any project's inclusive potential.

Di Nash, head production tinker at Thinkerbell, says of her team's experience, "Inclusion seemed a little overwhelming to start with, but as we started to work our way through the programme, we realised that little by little just small changes through the whole production project really added up to a lot by the end."

Major retailers are leading the way in making inclusion a standard part of their production process. "We knew this was something we needed to do, and we were eager to get started," says Vanessa Rowed, marketing director at Big W.

"The assessment process was so quick and intuitive that we've now embedded it into every campaign as part of our business-as-usual approach. My message to other businesses is simple – just get on with it. There's no reason to wait when making your productions more inclusive can be this straightforward."

Inclusively Made's upcoming 'No Silly Questions' webinar on Wednesday 26 February (12-1pm) will feature a live certification demo with a production team.

"We're pulling back the curtain," Henry explains. "No rehearsals, no editing - just an honest look at how straightforward inclusion can be when you have the right tools and support.

"The assessment tool was deliberately designed to feel more like a friendly guide than a rigid checklist. We wanted to show teams that inclusion isn't about ticking boxes or increasing budgets – it's about making mindful decisions about how we distribute opportunities throughout the production process."

The free Inclusion Assessment is available now at inclusivelymade.com, offering production teams a supportive pathway to more inclusive practices.
