Last year, the Labour government confirmed it would restrict advertising for ‘Less Healthy Food’ (LHF) to post-9pm, for TV and VOD Services.
Although the legislation won’t officially come into effect in law until 5th January 2026, the industry and government have agreed that it will be adhered to from 1st October this year.
Clearcast’s approach to clearing LHF ads during this transition period will involve a thorough review process. Last week they published guidance on how they will clear ads during this time, as well as some ‘best practice’ pointers for anyone submitting ads of this type.
