In new spot ‘Lead The Charge’ shot earlier this year by Daniel de Viciola for The&Partnership, Warsaw was chosen as the modern city centre to act as a backdrop for an electrifying journey showcasing Toyota’s electric models, as they merge and duplicate through splits and mirroring effects across town.
The team at 247 x Radioaktive’s new office provided the full production services, including all local casting, for four nights of shooting. The ability to be able to drone all over the city centre even at night, immediately made Warsaw a front runner. The locations were principally modern downtown streets and contemporary business areas, to give a high end urban feel whilst still offering 247 x Radioaktive and the production team the level of controllability required.
Luna Llados, producer 247 x Radioaktive: “The biggest challenge for this job was undoubtedly to shoot a moving pack shot of eight hero cars with Russian Arm and drone on a major city centre bridge midweek. Our collaboration with the local traffic police helped us to coordinate the set-up that resulted in a seamless operation”.
A further challenge for the shoot was the tight turnaround timings, which included scouting and applying for permits in the last few days before the Christmas holidays. It became clear that the streets would require a high degree of control due to the precision of the on-camera effects, with the streets and buildings lighting needing tight control in order to give a feel of a busy city right through the night.
Daniel Healy, producer, The&Partnership: “Warsaw was the perfect location for this complex production and the team from 247 x Radioaktive Film went above and beyond to make sure everything went to plan”.
