Since 2019 we have been expanding our services to produce film and TV content throughout Portugal.
Portugal now has one of the best incentive schemes in Europe funded by the Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA) with a cash rebate of up to 30%.
Minimum expenditure in Portugal is €500.000 (fiction and animation) / €250.000 (documentaries and post-production);
Between 25% and 30% of eligible expenditure, depending on a Culture Test and the characteristics of the project. Weighting factors include: high economic impact in Portugal, expenses made in low density territories, hiring actors/technicians with disabilities;
First come first served basis;
Upfront payments in installments;
Maximum incentive allocated per project is €4m;
Decision to award the incentive within 20 working days.
Our last film project for Netflix, ‘Damsel’, used Portugal for all its exterior locations.
