At Orchard, we grow brands. The work we make on behalf of brands takes seed in the minds of consumers and flowers in their hearts. We make work that sells hard but that people fall in love with. This ensures enduring affinity.
At Orchard we grow relationships. Every client engagement we have is a true partnership. We want the people we make work for to be as excited about putting it out into the world as we are about making it. We are not afraid to collaborate.
At Orchard we grow talent. Anyone who tells you their organization has a flat structure is lying—but what we can promise is that our executive team leads with empathy and is committed to nurturing the next generation of marketing professionals. In turn, we learn a lot from our young talent. Everyone at every stage of their career has room to grow.
At Orchard we grow community. If the gated walls of business have historically kept certain individuals outside, we aim to open our doors to a broader church. We voluntarily train at-risk BIPOC youth for careers in communication and media arts and all female employees are paid equal to or more than their male peers. By marrying intention with ambition we are doing our small part to change how the world works at work.
When we founded Orchard in 2019, we made it central to our mission to actively address the issues of gender and racial inequality. We made the following commitments:
Our majority equity shareholder and highest paid employee is, and always will be female.
All female employees at Orchard are all paid equal to, or more than, their male peers.
We would increase the size of the BIPOC talent pool available to the entire industry, in pursuit of which we voluntarily train at-risk BIPOC youth for careers in the communication and media arts.
We currently have 34 students enrolled in a year-long internship program, where we tutor them and they actively contribute to every aspect of our business from strategy, creative development through to production.
The impact of this initiative was acknowledged by Facebook’s then-Chief Creative Officer, Mark D’Arcy,
during Facebook at Cannes 2021:
“You can only stand up and talk about things if you’re actually doing something about them. An agency we love that has been doing this since 2019 is Orchard. Their story is really inspiring…Orchard’s commitment to their internship program is crucial to ensuring a diverse future in the marketing industry”
Inc. also awarded us Gold in their 2021 “Best in Business” awards for our commitment to this cause.
Outside of making great work together, every client who partners with Orchard helps support this program. You’re helping to not only close the education gap within the
BIPOC community, you’re helping to close the career gap within our industry.
