There are still a lack of relevant role models for girls as we have not come as far as we think we have in terms of equality. We saw an opportunity to provide inspiration for girls around the world at a time when they experience self doubt amongst many other obstacles. They need to find just 1 woman like them, to help them believe in themselves.
Our insight. We don’t need 20, 50 or 100. We only need to see 1 hero to believe “If she can do it, So can I”.
The idea was WORLD WOMAN HOUR. 60 women with 60 stories in 60 minutes. You only need 1 hero. Find yours.
This film is our introduction to the idea and this spoken word poem taps into a girl’s thoughts and feelings. And lets her know ‘we get it’ and explains why finding that 1 hero is paramount. Performed by the poet Jamee McAdoo in front of Little Rock Central high school, the birthplace of desegregation in 1957.
