Introduce viewers to the CDC’s top five most threatening superbugs, in a truly unique way and
create a first-of-its-kind video series, where people are brought into the superbug issue in an enticing and entertaining way.

To provide a unique point of view, Versus and Weber Shandwick with teamed Merck’s own researchers or “bug busters” to shine the light on the personalities behind viruses that comprise some of our biggest public health challenges.

This first of its kind, five-episode series was created to educate people about the superbug issues we face in an enticing and entertaining way.

To provide a Merck’s distinct point of view, Director Zack Resnicoff interviewed Merck’ lead researcher, Terry Roemer, describing his experience on the front lines of the battles with these deadly diseases. This was then married in edit and animation, where Versus showed what goes on under the microscope, by illustrating the many tales and creating the animated adventures of superbugs such as MRSA, CRE, C difficile, and Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, each of whom were personified in a distinct style and then animated to highlight their role in causing life-threatening diseases.
