The world created in David Guetta’s “Dangerous” video is a hyper-sexual, hyper-saturated, fantasy of Formula 1 racing. The visual excess of the video is deftly handled by jumP editor Luis Moreno’s digital knife, seamlessly blending the fantasy and reality of the world within. Moreno balances the onslaught of women lavishing attention on the rival drivers, the screaming fans, and scantily clad flagwoman; he never overwhelms the audience.
While everything in the video threatens to drown out the overall experience, Moreno manages to curb anything that might be too overtaking by smoothly navigating the cuts and ambience. And there are ample opportunities. He manages to sweep viewers away on a journey, around a Formula 1 track in this case, but not let them get swept away. Thanks to Moreno’s scope and vision, combined with Jonas Akerlund’s direction, living “Dangerous” has never looked so good.
