Not To Scale, Pierre+Bertrand and adam&eveDDB collaborate to create fun-filled spots for classic Australian brand Schmackos.
The original campaign had cult-like status in Australian pop culture and the idea behind the brief was to propel these trusted, lovable characters, Dorothy and Roger, into the 21st century. The original spots were claymation and P+B wanted to retain that same look the audience know and love but also modernise them: they decided to use CG animation in a claymation style.
In the new ads, Roger goes "wacko" for his Schmackos, with a series of mad and escalating responses to Dorothy's commands to jump and roll over. The animation style is punchy and fast-paced, achieved through editing and fast shots.
