Directing duo BLOK have just released the trailer for their first short film: ‘A Dishonorable Death at Twenty-Seven Minutes Past Six’.
Set in 1847, we bear witness to a gentlemen's duel on the outskirts of Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. Throw in some mistaken identity and a few other clangers and boom… We have a short film of epic proportions, people!
Filmed in a wet, dreary (and occasionally sunny, as only Britain can do) woodland, the dull weather was the perfect backdrop for the story line, but the BLOK guys thought the trailer was missing a bit of VFX pizzaz to enhance the tale, and so called upon We Are Covert.
The Covert team worked closely with the duo, interweaving a plethora of low-lying fog to create the ‘Sleepy Hollow’ pathetic fallacy vibes the directors had envisioned.
Whilst not too challenging and fairly standard work for the VFX artists, it really does give the trailer a finishing touch, and the Covert team loved being part of such a talented and entertaining creative team. The Blok duo are super talented (and hilarious) and this short film embodies all of their star qualities.
Covert, a VFX and post-production studio, embraces a remote, people-centric approach.
