Did you know that the average Canadian uses their weight in plastic waste every year? Combined, that's an estimated 3.3 million metric tons of plastic pollution, most of which ends up on Canadian shorelines and waters.
Corona Canada wanted to bring attention to this very real problem. So for #WorldOceansDay, we created life-sized beachgoers made entirely out of plastic pollution collected from local shorelines. Created in partnership with the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup and visual artist Caitlin Doherty, the beachgoers popped up at waterfront locations in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal to highlight the harsh reality of shoreline pollution in Canada.
