Director Anton Josef teamed up with Rooster editor Dave De Carlo to bring you the inspiring short documentary film 𝘈𝘍𝘛𝘌𝘙𝘔𝘈𝘚𝘒 shot in Los Angeles during the COVID-19 pandemic with an ambitious tiny crew.
In late February 2020, AJ Apone was testing out his new 3D Printer in one of Hollywood’s oldest special effect warehouses. The first thing he printed was the Loki mask from Jim Carrey’s ‘The Mask’ (1994). A few weeks later, the worldwide pandemic hit North America and AJ was forced to shut down his small business.
As Covid-19 cases skyrocketed, first responders and frontline workers were quickly running out of face masks. Remembering the Loki mask, AJ figured out how to print reusable face masks with a HEPA grade certified filter. With the help his family, The Mask Initiative was born, donating nearly 4000 face masks.
