Mr Porter
This is a stop motion animation that we created for online menswear brand Mr Porter. They came to us with the art direction, referencing some of our work for D&AD, and we developed the story with them. Mr Porter is a luxury brand with a very stylish and cool persona, so we worked on treating the animation with an extra level of slickness.
Often clients request that the job looks “more stop-motiony”, and with 3D renders looking so ridiculously realistic these days we can kind of understand this viewpoint. But this had to be smooth as well as feeling handmade – so we got the realness in from props, like the playing cards which we had custom printed.
It was the first time any of us have ever animated in Prada. Mr Tom Ford would have been proud.
