DJ BBQ 5000 is a revolutionary grilling product that provides the user with a truly unique cooking experience. By combining the love for barbecuing and backyard beats, the user can create their own song as they grill up their favorite summer foods. In partnership with McCormick, 8 sauces and spices were selected to represent the brand for Summer 2019.

The launch event saw DJ Jazzy Jeff and Chef Myron Mixon 'play' some sweet summer tunes on the BBQ. Engadget were there to try it out

This project was produced for Grey NYC by Current Studios.

About The Antipodean
The Antipodean is a hybrid consultancy and production collective specializing in immersive technology.

On the consulting side, we work with brands and agencies to unlock the potential of new technologies. It can be overwhelming to know where to start, so we focus on what’s relevant to your brand and consumers and demonstrate the opportunities available for demonstration, entertainment and consumer engagement.

The production collective consists of a core roster of the world’s leading immersive tech and experiential production companies specializing in AR, VR, IOT/Prototyping, AI, Voice, Animation and good old-fashioned Digital. Beyond that is a partner network consisting of individual thought-leaders, artists and companies for everything your production could possibly need.

Founder, Michelle Excell has focused on digital & innovation transformation throughout her career at digital and traditional agencies. She now channels that experience into inspiration and innovation workshops for brands globally and has given talks about various topics like ‘how XR will make healthcare more human’ (Keynote, Long Beach College of Innovation, 2019), ‘the beauty of volumetric video’ (Microsoft, 2019), ‘how brands use AI to engage consumers’ (Financial Times + SFBIG, 2019), and ‘AR ideation and prototyping’ (TED Women, 2018).
