Fresh off his exploits on primetime BBC comedy series Tracey Ullman’s Show, experienced comedy director Nick Collett has turned his eye to skewering a fascinating modern trend; the selfie. Part of EDF’s ‘Show Us Your Bill’ campaign, this film and it’s counterparts encourage viewers to capture themselves and their bill, specifically the QR code, to understand whether or not they could be saving money with EDF. This film focuses on dog-owner Amy, and alongside a Dad posing in front of a bathroom mirror and a woman pretending to sleep in the other two films, touches upon classical selfie stereotypes by poking fun at the often ridiculous nature of those in front of the camera. Featuring loveable pooch Alfie, or ‘Alf’ to stand for ‘Amy’s Little Friend’ (the stand-out of an incredible one day casting session of over 60 people and 20 dogs), the film is funny and can’t help but raise a smile. All in all, a great success for Golden Square neighbours M&C Saatchi & SALT.TV, as proved by the astonishing 600,000+ views in the first month of release!
