To celebrate the Tribeca Film Festival’s (TFF) 15th year, J. Walter Thompson New York launched a first of its kind machine that brought the magic of movies to New Yorkers like never before.
The Tribeca Film Festival ReActor combined voice and facial recognition with motion technology to record people re-enacting notable scenes from beloved films. The ReActor then dropped participants’ best performances into the real movie scenes to create videos that can be shared online via social channels.
Placed at various locations across New York City, hundreds of New Yorkers tried their hand at acting in iconic scenes. The ReActor then judged participants’ performances and rewarded the highest scores with free tickets to the Festival. The innovative machine engaged participants with creativity and energy, truly emulating the the spirit of the Festival.
