Children’s Hospital Los Angeles has been caring for kids since 1901, but hadn’t launched a new ad campaign in over eight years. They weren’t ready for a full brand overhaul, but they needed to get the word out through a targeted service-line campaign.
As California parents, their mission hits close to home, which is why we took on the project pro bono. Beyond their world-class rankings and medical firsts, what struck us most was the feeling inside. From the barista in the lobby, to the world-class surgeons and staff, to parents sharing stories unprompted, there was warmth, optimism, and something quietly magical running through the hallways and free Play-doh corners.
We knew the work needed to reflect that spirit and show that CHLA’s rare paediatric expertise is matched only by its 100% kid-focused compassion.
We partnered with a local photographer and spent two days inside the hospital capturing moments of joy, strength, and connection. Our scope included: demand gen strategy, onboarding in the health space, competitive research, messaging, photography, campaign design system, and a full rollout across OOH and digital.
The campaign has just gone live, but early results show the impact:
● +10% lift in persuasion
● +10–20% gains in perception metrics like 'compassionate care' and 'distinct offering'
● +55% positive emotional response
● Double-digit outperformance on AdVoice benchmarks for breakthrough, persuasion,
informativeness, and believability
Nimble agency. Big heart. Little kids. Real impact.
