Art&Graft were tasked with designing and developing a series of eight idents for Adult Swim with an almost entirely open brief. The films introduce a tech-savvy Granny with serious attitude. Bored in her mundane world, she decides to take a trip into virtual reality. The idents come alive as they delve into hyped-up scenes of retro gaming with a flurry of colour, sound and pixels. It was important to tap into the surreal visuals that Adult Swim is known for but doing so in a way that could sustain interest over eight sequences. The love story that develops with our video-gaming granddad gives the series a wider narrative that viewers can follow between their favourite shows.
