Converse Blues is a short film / music video project by Truman, directed by David Leon through We Are Social Studios. The piece depicts a man, Mr Wrath (Eddie Webber), who is experiencing a heart attack but whose hatred of 'the other' prevents him from getting the help he needs. He wakes up from his slumber to feel something isn't right and descends into a dark and surreal reckoning. The film features actor and campaigner Adam Pearson and the music was produced by composer & artist Jakwob.

The film is a continuation of a collaboration between Exec Producer Dan Keefe, director David Leon and Truman himself (Charley Palmer Rothwell), having developed two short films together previously (Hyem / Stable). Produced by Keri Rothwell Douglas and Isabelle Ramsden in between commercial projects on a shoestring budget, this latest project was brought to life by cinematographer David Foulkes on location in East London.

It is ultimately a hopeful story that examines hateful rhetoric through a personal lens, showing that empathy and tolerance are traits available and open to all. And, conversely, how their absence only serves to corrode the soul of those who fail to embrace them despite being given every chance. These are views that, through a generational rejection of hatred, can eventually die out in a very literal sense.
