Pizzini holds a unique position in the category as Australia's leading producer of Italian varietals. To solidify this position and drive further growth, the family looked to develop their first national campaign, one that clearly positioned them as the champion of Italian varietal wine in Australia.
But creating brand stories in this category are tricky; There are over 7,000 wine brands in Australia, produced by over 2,400 wineries. It's a market so saturated with fermented grape juice people are slipping in the streets.
Pizzini's origin story had something very special about it; their motivation for creating beautiful Italian wine was fundamentally because they wanted something to compliment the food they loved to cook and eat. Naturally, this food was Italian.
"Crafted to please Italian food" is a campaign designed to give the world's most opinionated cuisine a voice. What Italian cuisine demanded was that anytime Italian food is eaten, it needs to paired with its wine of choice. And that ain't no Chablis.
Fortunately for this King Valley wine maker, if Australians decide to do the right thing and drink Italian when they eat Italian, it's more than likely they'll end up with a Pizzini in their hands.
