Galop x Pride - It's Not All Sunshines And Rainbows

During Pride month—a time for celebration and reflection—the alarming rise in hate crimes against the LGBTQ+ community casts a shadow over the festivities. The UK's ranking on ILGA’s Rainbow Europe Index has dropped from 1st in 2015 to 17th in 2023, with 28,000 anti-LGBTQ+ hate crimes recorded last year alone. In response, soundnest partnered with Galop for the “It’s Not All Sunshine And Rainbows” campaign, addressing these critical issues and aiming to restore a sense of safety and celebration within the community.

Our task was vital: to blend powerful storm effects with impactful narratives, creating a compelling auditory experience. We faced unique challenges, synchronising thunderclaps and severe weather sounds with heartfelt dialogues about personal struggles and resilience.

Utilising our Dolby Atmos technology, we crafted an intricate soundscape that highlighted essential dialogue while immersing listeners in a dynamic environment. This not only underscored the spoken words, but also enhanced the visual experience, allowing attendees to feel surrounded by the shared voices and stories.

Our sound design and mixing ensured clarity in every word, amplifying the voices of those affected by hate crimes. Attendee feedback was positive, with many noting how the sound added emotional depth and connection to the campaign.
