Challenge

Create the most iconic and memorable Olympics opening ceremony experience ever for Airbnb. Airbnb needed to stand out and make the most of this unique PR opportunity for the brand to generate a huge buzz and catch the attention of both media and the general public.

Insight + Strategy

For the first time, the Olympics opening ceremony was hosted across the city instead of in a closed-off stadium. The Olympics opened the doors to Parisians and welcomed them to experience the iconic event like never before, in the very heart of Paris along the river Seine.

Airbnb had an opportunity to bring the ‘Only On…’ brand platform to Paris and create the ultimate home to host a unique open ceremony viewing party for Parisians.

Musée d’Orsay Night of Icons

For a brand all about making you feel at home anywhere in the world, we created the most iconic bedroom and secret garden in the location the world was watching, the Paris 2024 Olympic opening ceremony. All in collaboration with the Parisian local who designed the Olympic torch, Mathieu Lehanneur.

Our bedroom was in the world famous Musee d’Orsay clock tower and secret garden on its terrace where we hosted an intimate get together with some of the best views of the celebrations.

We showed the world that even at the most crazy, iconic, historic and exclusive moment in the world, you could feel at home.
