Our friends at Discord approached us with a unique ask - could we help redesign their primary website homepage to better communicate about the platform, its features, and unique product offerings? Given our deep chops in gaming and web, we dove headfirst into updating and refreshing the number one platform to chat, voice and hang out.
Our team met regularly with our partners at Discord to understand their key needs for the refreshed brand - what’s working, what’s not, and how we could reinvigorate the site to match Discord’s new direction for the coming years. The previous site was light, airy and filled with flat character illustrations, but the Discord team expressed an interest in refining these visuals to communicate a variety of forms that Discord could take in the future.
Alongside Discord and other partners, we reimagined how the Discord brand could come alive through richer colors, refined typography and robust product feature animations. Our team was responsible for design, animation, localization and QA prior to delivery.
The new website homepage launched for Discord’s 9th birthday alongside a global announcement from CEO Jason Citron, hallmarking a refreshed look & visual identity for the company. Packed with nods to gaming culture through animation and iconography, we’re proud to have partnered with one of the most popular platforms to bring their vision to life.
