PanOxyl came to us with a monumental task: "Paint us as a multi-generational skincare partner in 30 seconds". The visual creative was a tour through the decades, from the 70's to today, framing the story in the music of each time period - disco, early hip-hop, grunge, boy band pop, and modern pop. We had 6 seconds per decade to create tracks that encapsulated the essence of each era. 

We dove right in, sifting through references and breaking each genre down into its essential component parts; groovy bass, simple drums and rhythmic guitar for disco, bombastic drums, tasteful percussion, and DJ culture for early hip-hop, wailing guitars and heavy drums for grunge, quick synth stabs and tasteful drums and percussion reminiscent of early hip-hop for boy band pop, and squeaky-clean melodies and high-energy drums for modern pop. 

With all the tools laid out in front of us, we began to create. Our approach was to apply many different layers and peel back everything that wasn't necessary. The result was 5 tracks that captured the essence of each decade, while leaving plenty of room for the voiceover to tell the brand's story.

This made the sound design portion of this spot that much easier; we created ambiences for each environment, and added tactile and transitional sounds to keep it moving. Finally, we put a bow on it with a nice triangle ding on the Skin-fluencer's wink to end the spot playfully. 

Our collaboration with Hsubox brought this campaign to life beautifully, and allowed us to highlight PanOxyl's decades of work helping people get happier, healthier skin.
