In 2023, The Secret Garden Party festival commissioned Celestial to elevate this part of the show and make it press-worthy.
‘Cosmic Wisdom’ uniquely combined with other media to create a spectacle where a Space Invader appeared to rise up from the main stage video screen and into the sky. Fireworks then appeared as if shooting at the Invader. The show then paired drone animations with messaging from the late philosopher Alan Watts, delivered in his own voice.
After teasing the secret drone show to journalists, many diverted from the larger Latitude festival to cover it, generating c.£30k in earned media. Now numerous other festivals are looking to follow suit, making drone displays the next big form of entertainment for festivals.
• First multi-media drone show at a festival in the UK
• 30k+ watched the show live
• Generated c.£30k in press coverage
