Join us as we traverse the nation with USPS's "Built for the Holidays" spot led by Hornet Director Yves Geleyn. This latest installment in the USPS's iconic tradition of holiday campaigns is a live action adventure (entirely made of USPS shipping boxes, envelopes and packing materials) that illustrates the dedication and innovation of the Postal Service, especially during the holiday season.
With a wealth of experience with miniatures, live action, and memorable holiday spots, Yves Geleyn turned to intricate holiday window displays as the inspiration for the look of the campaign. The set took cues from the topography and architecture found across the United States, and the use of actual USPS materials to make every mountain, road, and house automatically gave the spot an inherent charm. But the use of materials isn't the only easter egg- if you look closely (or click to pause) you'll find the Detroit mail ship, QR codes for USPS services like "Operation Santa", billboards made of stamps, and even the legendary USPS million mile award.
In addition to the live-action component, the campaign also includes a national direct mail initiative designed by our team that is set to reach every single home in America. It's a unique opportunity for us all to collectively be part of a shared celebration, no matter where we are.
For more than two decades, Hornet has fervently channeled the fabric of dreams - grand and modest, enigmatic and enchanting. We see dreams as ambition and aspiration, as they power our ability to inspire, challenge, and elevate.
