XYZ brings ‘Blue Skies’ for Honda Worldwide
On June 20 2011, Honda set a goal to reduce CO2 emissions from the company's global products by 30 percent, by the end of 2020, compared to year 2000 levels. At that time, Honda introduced a new global environmental symbol, as a visual representation of the company's proactive commitment to make progress in its global environmental efforts. The symbol also reflects Honda's efforts to become leader in environmental and energy technologies.
The circular graphic represents the earth and sun, with blue skies (clean air), clean water and lush green land expressing the bounty of nature that is necessary to realize a sustainable society. The white line through the middle represents a road where freedom of mobility is realized. While the heart represents Honda's thinking and passion toward their environmental commitment.
Andrew Woods & Associates, Los Angeles approached Melbourne based animation company, XYZ studios and asked them to create a 30’ spot that would highlight Honda’s commitment to building a safer world for future generations. They wanted XYZ to bring their new symbol to life in a visually stunning way.
Enter new XYZ director Eran Hilleli . Marrying his signature minimalist style with Honda’s symbol, he dropped us from one graphic into a world full of progressive Honda products. With music created by Nylon Sydney, ‘Blue Skies for Our Children’ is housed on Honda’s website and being screened at car shows around the world.
