Newly-formed creative, data and technology agency Wunderman Thompson today announced the senior leadership for Greater China, with Carter Chow named chief executive officer of Wunderman Thompson China; Evan Teng named managing director of Wunderman Thompson Taiwan with Jill Chang as managing partner; and Matthew Parry named managing director of Wunderman Thompson Hong Kong with Maggie Tong as managing partner.
Wunderman Thompson China will be headed up by Shanghai-based CEO Carter Chow who joined the network from McCann late in 2016. With over 24 years’ experience in China’s fast-changing advertising industry, Chow hails from Canada and holds an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
After 10 years with Wunderman China, Bryce Whitwam will be stepping down as Greater China CEO.
Wunderman Thompson Taiwan will be helmed by Taipei-based managing director Evan Teng and managing partner Jill Chang. Teng’s career-long love of advertising includes having led the agency to winning numerous awards including Campaign Asia’s Creative Agency of the Year 2015 while Jill's 25 years' experience in marketing communications, CRM, digital and B2C business includes extensive stints client-side at Cerebos and as General Manager of OgilvyOne Worldwide Taiwan.
At recently-launched Wunderman Thompson Hong Kong, Matthew Parry has been named managing director with Hong Kong native Maggie Tong as managing partner. Parry returned to Hong Kong at the start of 2019, having been promoted from his position as business director & business unit general manager at JWT Shanghai. Maggie Tong's 20 years of industry experience spans 10 years as an IT professional then 10 years in digital marketing, first with Agenda and then Wunderman Hong Kong. Account management has helped hone her change, and people, management skills.
