Woodwork Music composer Philip Kay has provided a piece of
bespoke composition for the latest Wieden & Kennedy London spot for
Cravendale “The Milk Drinker”. The film follows a cool, moustachioed ‘dude’
through a montage of different scenarios. Wherever he goes he is seen with his
glass of Cravendale milk.
The campaign, which launched during Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday night, was directed by acclaimed collective Canada (through Canada London / Riff Raff Films) and continues the brands penchant for comical and irreverent ads.
Musically the goal was to create a track that gave a nod to the 70s without sounding overly smooth or pastiche. Wieden & Kennedy creative’s Thom Whitaker & Danielle Nöel – who have worked with Phil on several occasions – loved the final result and said “the composition ... adds another layer to the character’s personality and blends effortlessly with the world we created.”
