Why We’re Launching The Influencers

LBB’s Matt Cooper introduces an exciting new channel and a crack team of thinkers

Welcome to our brand new channel. It’s all about what’s happening in the industry – by the people who are actually doing the work. As the industry continues to evolve, we want to hear from the people who are pushing it to new frontiers. As you know, we love advertising – every part of it. That’s why we’re inviting great thinkers from all around the world to join the conversation; from brands, agencies, production, music companies and more. They are the influencers. And they’re not the usual suspects.

As regular readers will know, we see every company involved in the ad-making process as equally important. We’ve always been kind of democratic like that. It’s important that we allow commentary from all, and so we've launched this channel with a real purpose.

Scratch that, two purposes.

The first is to give the creative world a place to really talk about the business of creativity. You can think of it as a column, or a place to give tomorrow’s stars a place to shine. We really want this to benefit you as a place to talk and a place to learn.

Second, we want to make it very clear that LBB is not a company that squeezes companies for advertorial. We don’t like it and we feel that it is really not helping our world. If someone’s an Influencer or are featured in our editorial, it’s because we really believe they’ve got something to say that’s worth listening to.

This week we’re launching with some smashing people from across the industry, a real spread of funny, thoughtful, insightful voices.

For me, personally, this is one of our most exciting launches to date and I can’t wait to read about what  is really happening in adland and learn new stuff from new people that I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet. And I’m pretty sure our user group will feel the same.

If you have something to say, please let us know. We really want to hear from you.
