Run in partnership with NABS, the awards aim to foster great talent and support more women on their journey to leadership

WACL (Women in Advertising and Communications, Leadership) is inviting women across the industry to enter the WACL Talent Awards 2023, its training grant scheme for emerging female leaders working in media, marketing, advertising and communications.

Entries to the WACL Talent Awards 2023 will open from 13th September. Run in partnership with NABS, the awards aim to foster great talent and support more women on their journey to leadership.

The annual initiative issues grants to 25-30 women to fund a training course of their choice to support their future goals. The training bursaries are up to £1,500 each and demonstrate WACL’s tangible commitment to building the next generation of female leaders.

Winners also receive a membership to the Futures networking group – created and run by alumni of the Awards - in addition to a year’s membership to the Chartered Management Institute, and access to a digital workshop hosted by career development company Amazing If.

People can enter online on the awards entry page and submissions must be made before the entry deadline on October 31st.

Last year, the winner of WACL’s annual Patricia Mann Award for championing change and challenging the status quo was Kenny Dada, Account Director at VCCP.

Launched by Tess Alps in 2005, the WACL Talent Awards are designed to encourage talented and inspirational women to reflect on and prioritise areas of their development in order to accelerate their careers and achieve their full potential. In the last 19 years, more than 225 women have received bursaries totalling over £450,000.

WACL president Nishma Robb said, “The awards take on further meaning during WACL’s centenary year as we continue to build on the work of the pioneering women who’ve come before us and look ahead to future leadership. I’d encourage all those women pondering over whether to enter or not, to throw yourselves into this and get the recognition you deserve.”
