A collaboration with Curbed and The Verge, the original activation reinvents the daily integration of smart tech, both at home and on the go
The homes and the cars of the future will be technological feats unto themselves, and all of them will be seamlessly connected in a way that transforms the way we live. To bring this idea to life, Vox Media partnered with Ford F-150 and built their vision for the Home of the Future.

The program, fresh out the gate this past weekend and still ongoing, combines the following:
- A custom, state-of-the-art house in Austin TX, that we worked together to build from the ground up, hosting its visitors in a series of IRL events
- An immersive editorial program combining video, articles and other content produced in collaboration by Curbed and The Verge, Vox Media’s authorities on tech and the way we live
- Custom branded content that teaches the audience how they can make their own homes more cutting edge

The partnership with Ford brings Curbed and The Verge together as never before. The house showcases the most advanced innovations in design, construction, and smart technology. It is a reflection of the increasingly prominent role tech plays in making life at home more frictionless, efficient, and productive. The technology in the home lines up with the responsive nature of the Ford F-150, which integrates features such as voice-controlled Alexa capability, 360-degree camera, remote tailgate release, WiFi hotspot, and SYNC 3 into your everyday drive. Together, the Home of the Future and the F-150 show us how smart tech can become fully integrated into our lives, both at home and on the go.

Some of the unique on-site experiences at the "Home of the Future" include:
- 24 hour overnight stays with Chase Daniel, architecture photographer featured on Curbed and others
- Debut of Eater favourite Dylan Taylor's BBQ inspired restaurant
- Sounds of the Future featuring storytelling, music, and tech for an intimate crowd with Ryan Beaver and Bob Schneider
- Raising the Bar: The Ultimate Grill Hack hands on demo with Eater Young Gun Chef Ryan LaChaine and The Verge contributor Christine Sunu
- Coffee Hack with The Verge Contributor, Christine Sunu
- SubPac Relaxation Room: an immersive audio and wearable technology experience
- Remix Workshop: attendees will become the music producer as they mix samples of audio inspired by the technology in the home
- Ford F-150 experience, prizes and and sweepstakes
- Panel discussion on smart tech, prefab homes and sustainable development with Editors from Curbed Austin and The Verge

The aforementioned editorial series complements the activations by diving deep into how the innovations showcased by the “Home of the Future” will dictate the future of how we secure, customise and entertain in our homes.

While the branded video series gives audiences tangible DIYs to take advantage of, so their homes can almost instantly become more technologically savvy. Hosted by Bob Clagett (creator of like to Make Stuff”), each DIY video is inspired by a specific feature of the F-150 and empowers audiences to infuse purposeful technologies into their own home.
