Award-winning voiceover artist Kelley Buttrick of KB Voiceovers celebrates the 10th anniversary of her KB4 Jeep Campaign and dissects its decade-old mistakes.
Marking the 10th anniversary of the ground-breaking and award-winning campaign, Kelley is revisiting its impact and evolution. The campaign that increased KBVoiceovers' income by more than 35% and generated more than $75,000 in press coverage, will be explored through a modern lens, with Kelley gathering feedback on what worked, what didn’t, and how it might be approached differently today. As a part of the anniversary celebration, she will be sharing content from the original campaign alongside new insights across her platforms.
"When considering marketing strategies for 2015, I asked myself what I wanted in my voiceover career," says Kelley. "The answer? To voice for a brand I love, and I love Jeep. The original KB4Jeep campaign was a passion project that required me to manage not only a 6.4L HEMI V8 engine's worth of moving parts but also to balance it with my full-time job as a voiceover talent. It cost me thousands of dollars, countless hours, and many sleepless nights. Along the way, a once-trusted agent used my campaign for his own gain. In the end, despite not achieving my first goal of voicing for the brand, KB4Jeep was an incredible success financially, professionally, and personally."
Additional recent voice-over projects from Kelley and KB Voiceovers include voicing for ESPN, Michelin, Chewy, Disney, NASA, and countless others. While she is represented by national talent agents, more than 90 percent of Kelley's business is from repeat clients and referrals from those clients originally generated from her marketing efforts. Her clients consistently comment on her interest in their projects, her professionalism, and how much easier she makes their jobs.
"Kelley is the best voice talent I’ve worked with in 10 years,” says KBVoiceovers' client David Broughton of DJB. “She has so much more than a great voice: Her responsiveness to direction, professionalism, communication skills, kindness, creativity, and flexibility, just to name a few. Hire Kelley so she can trick out her Jeep AND make your project great."
