VMLY&R today announces the appointment of Adam Noel as creative partner at VMLY&R London. Noel will report to London CCO Laurent Simon and play a crucial role in leading and delivering the agency's rocket-high creative ambitions.
Noel will work closely with Simon to manage the 40-strong creative department. He will look after the Department for Transport and Pfizer accounts amongst others.
Noel's work – among which is DECODE Jay-Z, Virgin Media's SuperBolt, Celebrity Tap and HP Mobile Workstation – has been recognised globally for its innovation, social currency and humour. His work has won every major industry award including a Titanium Lion and two Grand Prix at Cannes Lions.
Noel most recently freelanced at the BBC Creative. Before that he was a creative director at BBH London working on key accounts including Virgin Media, Google. He worked at some of the best agencies across the globe, including Droga5 NY, Wieden+Kennedy Portland, BBDO NY and 180 Amsterdam.
VMLY&R has also hired Abigail Stephenson and Matt Jones as junior creatives. The team has worked at some of the best agencies in London such as Droga5, Lucky Generals and BBC Creative. In 2018, they were CREAM winners - the only team to win that year who didn't attend ad school. Stephenson was also recognised as one of the Pitch 100 Superwomen and an Honouree at Campaign’s 2020 Female Frontier Awards.
Noel, Stephenson and Jones join the agency at an exciting creative time, following the promotion of Tamryn Kerr as creative director, the hire of senior creatives Doug Fridlund and Mikael Alcock, and the launch of THINK's Pint Block and The Department for Transport's It's Everyone’s Journey.
Adam Noel, creative partner at VMLY&R London, said: "VMLY&R has a special combination of creative excellence, great culture and an insane drive to do things differently. I'm very excited to see how many buttons we can push."
Laurent Simon, CCO at VMLY&R London, said: "I’m pleased to count one other Cannes Grand Prix winner in the department. Adam knows the vital difference between making ideas social and simply sticking ideas on social. He also understands business, strategy, creative, and how to best connect with the public, regardless of the demographics or interests - as well as being nice, funny, brave, caring. The sort of guy you’d want to introduce to your parents.”
