As its largest integrated marketing campaign, Virgin Media Ireland’s launch of the new Virgin TV 360 platform brings an exuberant commercial showing how the possibilities of television vastly exceed our imagination.
Created by Publicis Dublin and brought to life by Antidote’s freshly signed director, Nick Roney, we see a humble television in a family home devoid of colour and energy - perhaps not unlike a lot of homes in the current climate - in need of rejuvenation. A Dorothy-like whisk into technicolour lands the television at the Virgin Media Wellness Retreat for TV where it undertakes a number of treatments such as HD massages and expressive movement before becoming the extraordinary television every family deserves. The family are literally blown away by their new Virgin Media TV platform as Philip Oakey and Giorgio Moroder’s ‘Together in Electric Dreams’ crescendos, the '80s hit acting as a reminder of the link between technology and endless possibilities.
Succession’s Brian Cox delivers the final line ‘Bring on Amazing’, Virgin Media Ireland’s tagline for this ambitious campaign. Roney’s extravagant vision, alongside photography by Marc Gomez Del Moral, makes this commercial both visually stunning and epic.
According to director at Publicis Dublin, Jimmy Murphy, the aim of this commercial was to 'create a world that is as disruptive and amazing as the product' which strives to give customers the highest standard of television experience.
Antidote’s executive producer, Andrew Freedman, commented: “This has been a really fun partnership with Publicis Dublin and Virgin Media Ireland. There has been no shortage of ambition and we were delighted to be able to bring this to life”
