Studio partners with Video Screen Services to host ‘Behind the Scenes of Daytime TV’ panel and networking event in Manchester’s ABC Buildings

VERSA Studios, the UK’s leading TV, film and live event studios based in London, Manchester and Leeds were proud to kick-off their support of Women In Film & TV UK (WFTV) with a discussion panel and evening networking drinks event that brought the industry’s broadcast TV and film community together at their central Manchester home, the ABC Buildings on Quay Street, Enterprise City. The partnership event with WFTV. Side Street Studio, All Work & Social and VSS took place on Wednesday 20th September from 6.30pm - 11pm. 


The evening kicked off with a special WFTV panel discussion ‘Behind the Scenes of Daytime TV’ with some of the women behind the UK’s hit Daytime TV shows discussing the current landscape of Daytime TV, audience trends, how to keep ideas fresh and interesting for returning programmes and the production of different formats. 

Panelists brought together included: host Natalie O'Leary (Broadcaster), Kathy Schulz (strategy and business development, VERSA Studios), Julie Kelling (executive producer), Han Thompson (production executive, BBC Studios) and Briony May Williams (presenter) to talk through their career journeys, providing valuable insight into career progression in the daytime TV world.


Following the panel there were drinks, food and networking with WFTV members and industry colleagues as well as the opportunity to take a tour of VERSA Studios’ dedicated home for the BBC’s leading daytime show Morning Live, the VERSA ABC (Skyline) Studio on the rooftop floor of the ABC Buildings.

The VERSA team have previously welcomed such recent TV entertainment projects as The John Bishop Show, BBC Morning Live, Justin’s House, Celebability, Life Stories with Kate Garraway and Bafta winning Friday Night Live, Saturday Night Takeaway amongst others as well as live events Kagami, Kendrick Lamar at OGS, Arctic Monkeys Music Video, Queen pre tour rehearsal, the Exquisite Gucci campaign and the recent Lacoste campaign.
