Planning coordinator at DM9, Brazil on starting it all with a deep dive into data

Unexpected Intros: Breno Strassacapa Silvério

At DDB, we have a simple belief. That Unexpected Works. It means that the best idea is the one you never saw coming. The thing that catches you so off guard that you can‘t look away. And the only path to genuinely unexpected works is through creativity.

And in order to create awesome works, you need awesome people. Because you can’t make the unexpected if you only work with the usual suspects. In this Unexpected Intros series, we take a peek behind the curtain at some of the diverse thinkers that make up our network, and validate Bill Bernbach’s notion that an idea can turn to dust or magic, depending on the talent that rubs against it.

1. Name, Title, Office

Breno Strassacapa Silvério. Planning coordinator at DM9, Brazil -an agency part of DDB Latina.

2. Introduce yourself in three emojis.

🤔🤪😅

3. What was your very first job?

As CRM assistant for a DBM company. Therefore, I started it all with a deep dive into data.

4. How did you wind up in advertising?

I grew up in a very artistic household: a former literature teacher as mother, an architect sister, and a creative director as father. Let’s say that I’m an apple that fell close to the tree.

5. Piece of creative that inspires you?

Formula 1 classic GP posters: hand-made, classy, straight to the point.

6. What are you currently reading, watching, and listening to?

Reading: Ulysses, James Joyce. It’s the book’s 100th anniversary and I felt that I needed a challenge.

Watching: Dan Jones’ Secrets of Great British Castles. I consider myself a history buff and have already read some of Jones’ books.

Listening: The Casual Criminalist. A true crime podcast that delves in cases with critical thinking, ingenious storytelling and a pinch of humour.

7. What’s a goal/hope/dream of yours?

Nowadays, mature myself as professional and person… whilst bringing social impact whenever possible in my work.
