Advertising, media and music agency Truant London has launched The Truants, a podcast created to provide bitesize insight into creative scenes and the cultures that surrounds them.
With each episode focussed on a different scene, listeners can expect an unpredictable ride as they are thrown into conversations with a range of people from unique creative scenes, each with their own stories to tell.
The broad list of guests will see the podcast covering topics that include the lack of diverse representation in fashion and TV, the early 90’s rave scene, growing up in the diaspora, British cinema, the Metaverse, comics and the circular economy.
Initial interviewees include: Andy C (DJ, record producer and drum and bass pioneer), multidisciplinary creative Basma Khalifa (Sudanese director, filmmaker, writer and stylist who was raised in Northern Ireland and Scotland) and Zoom Rockman (political cartoonist, puppet animator and the youngest artist in Beano history).
Presented by Truant’s head of hype and culture, Lennie Hughes, who has previously presented a wellness series with mindfulness platform Just Breathe, The Truants launches on 7th December 2021 and will be available across all major podcast-friendly platforms, with new episodes dropping fortnightly.
Truant London’s Head of Hype and Culture and Host of The Truants, Lennie Hughes, said: “This all started as a simple conversation about wanting to expose ourselves to the new, and ended with a podcast. It’s been a privilege spending time with our insanely talented guests and I have no doubt listeners will find insight in all of them. This isn’t another ‘agency does podcast’ project aimed at ad land, it’s for anyone interested in learning a little about scenes they know nothing about.”
