‘Moon’ is a beautifully crafted film that gives us an insight to what fuelled Buzz Aldrin’s first steps on the moon.
Tom captures Buzz reminiscing while watching the original NASA footage of his time on the Apollo 11 mission. The archived footage and live action transitions are seamless. This coupled with Tom’s incredible ability to capture authentic moments and stunning visuals, makes this an emotive and powerful film.
Tim Daukes, Producer, HLA said: “Tom handled Buzz Aldrin with such deft professionalism. Director and star struck up a relationship that enabled us to capture candid and emotional reflections on arguably man’s greatest ever achievement. It’s important to remember this story has been told for almost fifty years - with Tom behind the camera it felt like Buzz was genuinely transported back to that extraordinary time. I’ll never forget this job, what an honour.”
Tom joined HLA earlier this year off the back of a catalogue of exceptional TV commercials, from the original Jamie Oliver Sainsbury’s ads to the beautifully shot HSBC ‘Bruichladdich’. His wealth of experience not only sits in the realm of moving image, he is also as an established stills photographer. Tom has been published in the Guardian, Independent on Sunday as well as having his work exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery.
