tms, a global leader in technology, marketing, and sourcing, has appointed Val George Vollmer as the new vice president of global product and creative at Global Merchandise Services, the company’s product and merchandising division.
Val George brings extensive experience in creative leadership to his new role, joining tms from Sam’s Club, where he served as the head of brand experience for Member’s Mark. In his new position, Val George will spearhead the product design and development process, from concept to execution. This work will drive innovation across tms’ diverse portfolio, including some of the largest brands in specialty coffee, entertainment, and convenience.
Val George will oversee a talented team of 50+ professionals in teams spanning across product management and development, design engineering, industrial design, and graphic design. His mission is to foster a culture of growth, creativity, and innovation, sparking new product ideas that resonate with brand fans. In addition, he will serve as a key strategic partner across tms’ client portfolio, driving cross-functional collaboration and alignment. He will report directly to Alice Chi Martin, president of Global Merchandise Services.

Val George’s background in creative direction and product design spans a wide range of industries. At Sam’s Club, he led the transformation of Member’s Mark, overseeing brand experience, creative strategy, packaging design, trend analysis, and marketing activations. Prior to that, he was the founder of g. consulting and held senior leadership roles, including vice president and head of design for Home at Bath & Body Works.
