On the 22nd of July, the online awarding ceremony of Effie Awards took place. It is an international annual award that defines the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. The competition has been held since 1968 in 55 countries on five continents as well as on a global level.
This year
BBDO Moscow once again reaffirmed their status as the most effective agency in the country. The agency topped Russian Effie ranking with the highest score (100) and received the title 'Agency of the Year' for the fifth time in a row. Instinct agency got the second place with a minimum gap from the first place (98 points). They also got the Grand Prix, and their client, IKEA, won the third place in Effie Brand Rating.
Contrapunto is the third (92 points) by winning 12 awards, 8 of those being gold. Agency’s client, VimpelCom, was ranked #1 in Effie Brand Rating. BBDO Russia Group media agencies were also among the winners: seven awards received by OMD Media Direction and two by PHD.
This is the first time agencies from the same advertising group have been ranked top three.
In total, BBDO Group agencies in Russia won 46 Effies, including Grand Prix, 15 Gold, 10 Silver and 20 Bronze awards. Among the winning pieces there are campaigns created for Mars, PepsiCo, WWF, IKEA, VimpelCom, Megafon, MTS, Beru, Petrovich, Hasbro, Google, Gett, ŠKODA and Audi.
