The Quarry Welcomes Editor Geri Docherty

The Quarry has announced the arrival of Geri Docherty to its roster of editors.

Geri started editing professionally after finishing a film degree at University, and quickly developed an editing style that connected with many artists in the Australian industry, and now she has set her sights on the UK: “I feel incredibly honoured to have joined The Quarry roster alongside many talented names that I’ve looked up to for years. There’s so much amazing work being created in the UK and I’m excited to see what the industry has in store for me going forward! 

Having recently made the move from sunny Melbourne to occasionally-sunny London, Geri’s cutting talents were tapped by The Quarry, who were blown away by the sheer quality of her work.

Before joining The Quarry, Geri found a tonne of success, with fantastic commercial work for brands such as Nike, JD Sports, Mercedes Benz and Champion, as well as music videos for Troye Sivan, G-Flip and Mallrat. Geri’s short form work has amassed critical praise too, such as the short films Haze and Patterns Of The Afternoon, and the documentaries PURRR, and Eden Alone Surpasses Thee, which recently won best short film documentary at the Australian International Documentary Conference. Geri’s work has also been featured at prestigious festivals such as Melbourne International Film Festival, Melbourne Queer Film Festival, Melbourne’s Women in Film Festival, and Mardi Gras Film Festival.

“Geri was 10,550 MILES away a few weeks ago when we spoke to her on the blower,” says Ben Campbell, editor and partner - “We were like “you’re bloody awesome,” and she was like,” you guys are pretty cool”... Next thing you know she’s here and she’s already working. Geri has a really outstanding reel with bags of potential. We can’t wait to see what she does next! Go Geri!”

By watching Geri’s work, viewers can tell how much she enjoys the craft, but to her it’s far more than a job, “I’m deeply passionate about editing, it’s the one thing in my life that I’ve always been sure of, and I know I’ll be doing it for the rest of my life, so being a part of The Quarry’s roster is a really big and exciting step for me - I can’t wait to get stuck in. I trust the leadership, and the producers, and in my short time here I've very much felt at home.”
