India’s most loved and celebrated festival – Diwali, also marks Vistara’s first Diwali since operational launch. Symbolic of close family ties and the joy of giving, this festival of lights is celebrated across the country with near and dear ones. To make the occasion more memorable and meaningful, Vistara attempts to unite people with their loved ones with its festive campaign, #HamariPehliDiwali.
Celebrating the spirit of love and togetherness, the #HamariPehliDiwali campaign invites people to share their ‘Pehli Diwali’ stories and gives participants a chance to fly and celebrate with their loved ones.
Created by The Mob, that incidentally is also celebrating its Pehli Diwali, Vistara's Pehli Diwali campaign comprises of a series of 3 online films inviting entries into the #HamariPehliDiwali contest.
The first film has a newlywed couple talking of how they have just bought a new house and cannot afford a flight to Bhubhaneshwar (the girl’s house) for their Pehli Diwali. It ends with them cajoling Vistara to fly them there on the occasion of the airline’s Pehli Diwali.
The second film shows two brothers in Bangalore who have just set up their IT start up and now on the few days leading to Diwali have realized that what their start up really needs is their mom’s Pehli Diwali Puja because “Nothing ever goes wrong once Ma has done her Puja”.
The third film shows a grandmom who shows the picture of her newborn grandson in her mobile phone. Her son has promised that he will get her to meet the grandson a month later, but she knows that her grandson’s Pehli Diwali would be gone by then. The film ends with her talking of how wonderful it would be if she could fly down to Mumbai to meet her grandson.
The films are produced by Equinox Films, and directed by Sandeep Modi. Manoj Shroff the Producer on the film says: "It was a very different experience for me as a Producer. To get the element of truth we cast unknown faces, who were camera friendly and we shot them in real not production friendly locations. This is Sandeep’s first project with us though it does not look like that when you see it.”
Chraneeta Mann/Nitin Suri say: "Diwali is a very special time and perhaps even more special is the occasion of a Pehli Diwali. It is a time full of optimism and happiness. We wanted to take that special joyous time in Vistara's journey and connect at an emotional level with every Indian celebrating his Pehli Diwali out there. Making it a beautiful memory for both."
The campaign would be running across social media - Twitter, Facebook, Youtube with entries invited for the duration of 5th to the 16th of November. During which 5 couple return flight tickets would be awarded. To take the festive fervor up another notch, creative hand-baggage tags in the shape of firecrackers and diyas will be adorning all baggage aboard Vistara flights during this period.
