Come and say 'hi' at La Plage Courage

Cannes is finally upon us! After months of preparation, the LBB has finally decamped to the South of France. We’re looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible at the LBB Beach, La Plage Courage, and out and about on the Croisette. We’d love for you to come and say hi – but we know what it’s like when you’re trying to hunt out someone you’ve never met before. So, with that in mind, we thought we should introduce the team.

Matt Cooper, Founder

What do you do at LBB?
MC> I started this fab journey about 4 years ago and I am really glad to be where we are now, we have a great team and are just about to launch a new version of LBB which will be a game changer.

What are you most looking forward to this year at Cannes?
MC> See old friends and making new ones.

Favourite Cannes tipple?

MC> That depends on the time of day!

Piece of work you hope to see going home with a shiny Lion?

MC> Southern Comfort’s ‘Whatever’s Comfortable. I watched it 8 times last night and found a long version. That dip is just classic!

Favourite thing about Cannes?

MC> The constant opportunity that appear during the week to work with new people.

Gabrielle Lott, Editor

What do you do at LBB?
GL> I am the Editor of Little Black Book globally and I run LBB Asia Pacific

What are you most looking forward to this year at Cannes?

GL> The adrenaline and the rush. This is my busiest week. Each and every hour is packed with either a meeting, interview or seminar. It's exhausting, but I love the buzz and it recharges my love for the industry

Favourite Cannes tipple?
GL> Hendrick's and tonic

Piece of work you hope to see going home with a shiny Lion?
GL> Leo Burnett Sydney's recent work for Coca-Cola India 'Small World Machines'

Favourite thing about Cannes?
GL> Meeting up with contacts from across the globe. I attended my first Cannes with Contagious back in 2004... I love seeing old friends and exchanging big smiles.

Katherine Peach, Account Director

What do you do at LBB?
KP> Executive Creative Director of picking up Matt's cut off shorts from the tailor

What are you most looking forward to this year at Cannes?

La Plage Courage Happy Hour.. why would you be anywhere else?

Favourite Cannes tipple?
Pink wine of course, preferably drunk waist deep in the Riviera.

Piece of work you hope to see going home with a shiny Lion?
Is it boring if I say McCann's 'Dumb Ways to Die'? It's the Aussie in me. I'd also love to see Alethea Jones pick up the Young Director Award - she's a gun.

Favourite thing about Cannes?
Catching up with our global community and anything involving Sizzer Amsterdam.

Laura Swinton, Deputy Editor

What do you do at LBB?
LS> I create and curate content for the site and newsletter and bang on endlessly about social media and Game of Thrones.

What are you most looking forward to this year at Cannes?
LS> Can’t wait to see Dame Vivienne Westwood at the Palais. Perhaps I’ll pick up some style tips.

Favourite Cannes tipple?
LS> Rosé (she said, unoriginally). The Diet Coke Hunk looks set to grace La Plage Courage with our presence and I’m sure I’ll be consuming several post-hangover gallons of the brown and fizzy stuff.

Piece of work you hope to see going home with a shiny Lion?
LS> Draftfcb’s ‘Driving Dogs’ occupies a small, poochie-shaped part of my heart.

 Favourite thing about Cannes?
LS> The little old men with poodles and panama hats.

Paul Cooper, Account Director

What are you most looking forward to this year at Cannes?
