The British Arrows Announce 2017 Shortlist

The British Arrows announced today the shortlist for The British Arrows 2017. For the first time the award has nominees across both CAMPAIGNS and CRAFT. Gold, Silver and Bronze winners will be awarded and celebrated on Wednesday 24th May at Battersea Evolution in London.

Until 2016, traditionally the British Arrows had always hosted two shows - one celebrating the best ideas and commercials of the year, the other celebrating the best craftsmanship. Earlier this year, British Arrows announced their new event which combines CAMPAIGNS and CRAFT into one awards show to celebrate the best work entire industry has to offer, since any great piece of work is a magical combination of idea and craft. This unique and carefully crafted British awards show honours moving image advertising across 27 streamlined CAMPAIGNS categories and 24 CRAFT categories.

David Kolbusz, CCO at Droga5 who served as Chair of the CAMPAIGNS jury commented “Our jury was stuffed with opinionated misanthropes whose hearts were as black as coal. That said, thanks to the quality of work this year, the generosity of human spirit won out. Our attempt to celebrate the best of British moving image advertising landed us with a shortlist that is as strong as it is varied - a delicate cocktail of thrills, laughter, and tears. Lee Pavey, co-founder of ETC, who served as Chair of the CRAFT jury said “During our intensive two-day judging process, what became evident to the jury was that the quality of work being created by British talent is arguably some of, if not the best in the world. Our small island produces some of the most amazing talent in the global advertising market and, even from the shortened eligibility window of just five months, this shortlist showcases what amazing craftspeople our industry has created and nurtured.”
