Indianapolis-based agency embraces remote structure, growing team across the country as it continues impressive growth streak

Indianapolis-based agency, The Basement, has welcomed eight new team members to support the expansion of the agency’s client roster and services. This new group of hires follows the announcement of nine new employees back in April 2022

These new hires bring The Basement’s employee presence to 12 states, including Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and the agency’s home base in Indianapolis, Indiana. Approximately 20 percent of The Basement’s employees are now fully remote. The offering is a permanent one, further supporting the idea that strong talent can live anywhere to support national and international brands.

The agency’s new hires include:

  • Lizzy Morehouse joins The Basement as manager, integrated planner, where she supports the IU account. The Seattle-based Ball State graduate has extensive media planning and buying experience, including roles at Voicebox Karaoke, Cole & Weber, and Razorfish.
  • Mallory Doyel joins as senior account executive where she manages operations for key account Schlage, in addition to several others. Mllory brings with her nearly 15 years of marketing experience, including stints at agencies including Matchbook, Miles Herndon, and The Plaid Agency.
  • Liz Palmer joins as senior account executive where she will oversee the day-to-day affairs of work with Caterpillar. Based in Atlanta, she previously served as the Team Lead, account management at RevBoss and Senior Recruiter at Dentsu.
  • Michael Meek joins as art director to support the recent influx in creative services needs. Michael brings more than 10 years of design experience to the role, having previously worked as senior designer at Section 127 and CSM Sport and Entertainment, and was Digital Media Designer at USA Today Network.
  • Josh Adams joins as junior art director. From his homebase in West Virginia, the Columbus College of Art & Design graduate supports the department and clients across the agency’s roster, including SigEp, IU Online, and Transitions.
  • Carly Mungovan joins as associate campaign manager after more than five years at Seattle Children’s Theatre as a digital marketing manager. At The Basement, Carly contributes to client campaigns including Schlage, Mosaic and Indiana Repertory Theatre.
  • Jess Nejad joins the agency as account executive, helping lead the daily operations and client communications for Schlage, Fanatics Lids College, NASPA and others. Based in Indianapolis, she previously worked at the Indiana Commission for Higher Education for seven years, most recently as communications and marketing director.
  • Brooke Hazel first joined The Basement as a strategic communications intern in January 2022, and recently joined the agency full time as coordinator supporting both the Strategic Communications and MIT teams, serving a wide variety of clients across departments.

"Talent is not defined by ZIP codes. By embracing a remote work environment, The Basement benefits from a more diverse talent pool, broader client portfolio experience, and unique skill sets,” said Conrad Edwards, CEO. "Allowing all of our employees the freedom to work where they feel most productive is crucial to cultivating work/life balance, and empowers us all to do our best work.”
